MEET THE FOUNDER

Pat Conway

During many long walks through the Woburn Estate with my soppy old Labrador, Luke, and surrounded by the Red Deer that roam there, I had time to reflect on the turbulence and uncertainty that was engulfing the media industry. It was out of those moments that Red Deer Media was born and ultimately founded in early 2025.

After nearly three decades in senior creative and operational roles, I recognised that many legacy business models and workflows had become too rigid for the rapidly evolving, AI-driven content landscape. My goal was to build a consultancy that inspired disruption and meaningful change - one that bridged the gap between traditional media and the new content community, reconnecting disenfranchised audiences with broadcast media.

During 12 years at Vubiquity, I led the Global Creative Services team - effectively an in-house creative agency supporting a thriving international content business. My team produced high volumes of promotional assets, reversioned and localised for multiple delivery endpoints in over 25 languages. In 2021, I expanded my remit by building a Mastering and QC business for Vubiquity across the UK and EMEA, developing deep relationships with Tier-1 content owners and major studios. These roles strengthened my expertise in strategic leadership, business transformation, financial management and large-scale media operations across the global content supply chain.

Before moving into senior management, I had built my reputation as an editor and creative producer, working with Channel 5, Discovery, and On Demand Group. At On Demand, I played a pivotal role in the company’s transition from tape-based workflows to digital delivery - igniting my long-standing passion for innovation in post-production and content operations.

As a graduate from Bournemouth University’s Media Production degree course, my early experiences - from compliance editing at Granada Sky Broadcasting to freelance roles at Ascent Media - grounded me in the craft of storytelling and the technical precision required to deliver content to evolving platforms.

Today, the 30 years of experience that underpin Red Deer Media represent more than a career - they form a trusted network, a deep understanding of the industry’s evolution, and a clear vision for helping clients navigate what comes next.
